25-6

The Lakeside Varsity team finished with a school record 25 wins in 2021. The disappointing loss in the first round of the GHSA playoffs doesn’t take away from an outstanding, memorable year for the Vikings. Several individual records fell as well….Joseph Garcia tied a Lakeside record for pitching wins at 10 and Malachi Cloud broke the school record for runs scored at 42. Congratulations players and coaches on a great year!!

Great middle school Gold baseball season!

The middle school Gold team completed their successful season on Tuesday, April 20 with a game at Brook Run Park in the Dunwoody Senior Baseball league.  The team finished their season with a record of 7-9-1 and scored double digit runs seven times.  Half of the team played in their last middle school game as they will be competing at the JV level next year; the other half will continue to build on their Lakeside middle school baseball experiences.  These players were fortunate to have these great coaches – Stefan Lollar, Pete Lollar, and Erin Conrad – who gave their time, energy, and baseball knowledge for months of practices and games for the Lakeside Baseball Program!  Go Vikings!

Great middle school Purple baseball season!

The middle school Purple team completed their successful season on Saturday, March 27 in front of a full house on Field 6 at Medlock Park.  They fell a little short (3-1) against a strong Tucker team playing in the DHYS second-division middle school championship game.  After a 2-4 start, the team won five out of six games going into the championship game and ended the season with a winning record (7-6).  They also scored double-digit runs in almost half of their games (6).  The future is bright for these young players as they will help the Purple and Gold teams succeed next season and the high school teams in the future.  Thank you to the Creviston family for doing a wonderful job with coaching our boys again – Jim, Philip, and Nick! Go Vikings!

Great JV baseball season!

The JV team completed their successful season on Tuesday, March 30 with a doubleheader sweep of Druid Hills (at Druid Hills Middle School) winning both games by identical 5-1 scores.  Their three-game season-ending winning streak gave them a winning record (8-7) for the season.  The team posted wins against their local rivals Dunwoody, Chamblee, Decatur, and Druid Hills, in addition to other wins against North Springs, Jackson, and Arabia Mountain.  The highlight of their season was scoring five runs in the darkness at Wilson Field in the bottom of the last inning for a walkoff 8-7 victory against Chamblee.  Thank you to Coach Cass, Coach Hoover, and Coach Johnson for doing a fantastic job with coaching our boys! Go Vikings!

Thank you Coach Hayes

We had a great turnout on Donnie Hayes Day. Thanks to all fans, families and friends who came out to celebrate the Viking career of Coach Hayes. There was also a great game on Donnie Hayes Day with the Vikings defeating the visiting Decatur Bulldogs 5-3. Thank you to Coaches Granger and Newsome for celebrating this day with Coach Hayes….and to the many Lakeside alumni, students, faculty, and friends from the community who attended the ceremony. Thanks again Coach Hayes!!!

Donnie Hayes Day

On March 6th (weather permitting), Lakeside will be hosting a celebration in honor of Coach Donnie Hayes. Coach Hayes enjoyed a winning tenure at the helm of various Lakeside teams and coached many players who went on to play at the next level. The ceremony will begin approximately 20 minutes before the 2pm game at Wilson Field. Please come out to join the Lakeside community in recognizing Coach Hayes!
